Starwars V Startrek by German artist Lichtfaktor

Light writing is an up-and-coming form of stop motion animation in which still images captured using the technique known as light painting or light drawing are sequenced and so generate an optical illusion of movement for the observer. Pablo Picasso used this technique almost a century ago but it has hit our contemporary consciousness just recently, kicking off with an advertising campaign by an American telecommunications company four years ago.

Amazing Cinemagraphs by Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg

Today I will show you “more than a photo, but not quite a video” by the photographer Jamie Beck and visual designer Kevin Burg.

A Cinemagraph is an image that contains within itself a living moment that allows a glimpse of time to be experienced and preserved endlessly.

Visual Graphics Artist Kevin Burg began experimenting with the .gif format in this style in 2009 but it wasn't until he partnered with photographer Jamie Beck to cover NYFW that Cinemagraphs were born. Marrying original content photography with the desire to communicate more to the viewer birthed the cinemagraph process. Starting in-camera, the artists take a traditional photograph and combine a living moment into the image through the isolated animation of multiple frames. To quote supermodel Coco Rocha "it's more than a photo but not quite a video". Beck and Burg named the process "Cinemagraphs" for their cinematic quality while maintaining at its soul the principles of traditional photography. Launched virally through social media platforms Twitter and Tumblr, both the style of imagery and terminology has become a class of its own. The creative duo are looking forward to exploring future display technologies for gallery settings as well as pushing this new art form and communication process as the best way to capture a moment in time or create a true living portrait in our digital age while embracing our need to communicate visually and share instantly.

The dresses that I made

I like to make my own stuff from I was a kid. I used to cut the curtain or the old clothes and then made a little dress for my doll. I never learn any but I just like to do them.
This is the first dress that I made, and it was really a hand made dress. I didn't use the sewing machine. Becaus this is the first one I made, it is not fit me. I planed to made it to be my size, but it is too small when I finished. It is noly fit around five years old kids.

FIRST DRESS

Later, I thought I could make it better, so I made second dress.

The second dress is better than first one. After I made the second fress, I knew how mach I need to cut to make a dress that need to cut biger than it look it.
I will make more dresses and make myself to be more professional in future.

'The mending project' by chinese-born artist beili liu is a performance art and installation project that consists of hundreds of chinese scissors suspended from the ceiling in a shimmery cloud.
Put on at the women and their work gallery in austin, texas, USA earlier this year, the piece involved the artist sitting in front of a small black table, hand-mending patches of fabric together which visitors are encouraged to cut themselves near the entrance. As the performance continues, the piece grows as one continuous cloth and lays spread on the floor.
The hovering mass of the downward-pointed scissors represent the distant fear and looming iolence present in today's cultural climate. the sharp blades above the artist are put on contrast by the silent and simple act of mending. the dichotomous result of the instant fear superimposed with the calming effect of the sewing creates a surreal atmosphere in the room.

When I saw this, I felt she put herself in really dangers place. It is a different kind of art, but I did not really like it.

Light Green Bracelets

The light green bracelets were the new jewelries that I made. I like green color, so I always look for green stuff. When I saw those green beads, I thought I could make something. This is the picture of the light green bracelets.

I have made some dresses before, but they were too small to wear. The cutting was not perfect because I never learn how to do it. Later I will show the picture to you.

Something about me and my design

I am a international student from China. When I came to America, I just graduated from high school. I like art, but there is not anyone work with art in my family, so I never learn anything before about art before.
The education in China are totally different from America. We go to school from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 7pm. And we have lots homework to do. If you want to get A, you must go to some Special school to learn more on Saturday and Sunday. That means we do not have anytime to do other things we like. After I came here, I realized I have lots of free time to do what I want. Then I deiced to learn art, to create my dream life.
However, I also found out that most of American learn to create or make their own stuff from they was a kid. And they knew many things that I did not know before. When I studied computer graphic last semester, I was the only one that did not have any art background. For example, almost students knew how to use the photoshop and they learnt it in high school.
Therefor, when I post something I made, people may think that is kid's work.

The center black clock is bought from thrift store. It was together with 12 black pieces with 1 to 12, but I only need the center, so I just spend 99¢. And the cat drew and cut by some useless syntactic foam. when I saw the center black clock, I though I would make some special clock. But when I went back to home and sew my landlord's cats, I though I should make a cat. Then I used that night made this cat clock.

Beijing design week is presented by the ministry of culture, ministry of education, the china federation of literary and art circles, and the municipal government of Beijing, in collaboration this year with Qinghua University.
