I am a international student from China. When I came to America, I just graduated from high school. I like art, but there is not anyone work with art in my family, so I never learn anything before about art before.
The education in China are totally different from America. We go to school from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 7pm. And we have lots homework to do. If you want to get A, you must go to some Special school to learn more on Saturday and Sunday. That means we do not have anytime to do other things we like. After I came here, I realized I have lots of free time to do what I want. Then I deiced to learn art, to create my dream life.
However, I also found out that most of American learn to create or make their own stuff from they was a kid. And they knew many things that I did not know before. When I studied computer graphic last semester, I was the only one that did not have any art background. For example, almost students knew how to use the photoshop and they learnt it in high school.
Therefor, when I post something I made, people may think that is kid's work.
The center black clock is bought from thrift store. It was together with 12 black pieces with 1 to 12, but I only need the center, so I just spend 99¢. And the cat drew and cut by some useless syntactic foam. when I saw the center black clock, I though I would make some special clock. But when I went back to home and sew my landlord's cats, I though I should make a cat. Then I used that night made this cat clock.
Hi Yang! That is a very original clock! I love your idea of taking a clock from a thrift store and using your creativity to make it into something special.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'm one who believes in recycling and reusing as much as possible (there's too much stuff in this world, and way too much trash). Your cat clock is great. It seems like your landlord is a real cat person and might really enjoy seeing your cat clock.
