Evacuation Skirt Inflates into a Kayak
The Evacuation Skirt was inspired by the Katrina storms in New Orleans and serves and a regular flowy skirt, but inflates into a kayak to become a life saver in extreme weather conditions. When inflated, the Evacuation Skirt can hold a full-grown adult woman and allows users to float atop floods and lakes when needed, becoming a suit life saver in emergency situations. Designer Yael Mer, says he “wanted to raise the question of emergency and beauty and to explore whether they can meet each other.”
That is just too funny! So once the skirt has become a boat, there woman has nothing but underwear and a boat on? And then when emergency is over, she deflates it back into a skirt? Can't step out of the boat in just underwear! Maybe this will catch on among the disaster relief organizations. His idea of making beauty among disaster is interesting, and funny (almost satirical, but not really).
ReplyDeleteHah that is an interesting idea. Is it already on the market or it's just a concept design?
ReplyDeleteThis is a really interesting concept. I guess you need to wear special undies, just in case! This could open up a whole new market niche for lingerie. It continues to amaze me where people get their inspirations.
